Lexan is a high strength plastic used in high end baits. It is extremely durable and does not become
brittle in cold water. All of our Lexan bills are 1/16" thick.
Micarta is a fiberglass/epoxy laminate material that is extremely strong with a tensile strength
of 40,000 p.s.i. It has excellent "deflection" characteristics due to this strength. This also allows the bill to be thinner
than a comparable Lexan bill. Our Micarta bills are 1/32" thick.
* A note on bill colors*
Green Micarta tends to look best on chartreuse baits.
White Micarta looks best on shad colored baits.
Natural Micarta works well on yellowish baits like spring craw.
Clear Lexan looks good on all baits.
Matte Lexan gives you a lexan bill with a muted finish.
